GoHa Personal Execution System

A personal execution system that keeps life areas, goals, to-dos, habits, a day plan, focus sessions and weekly reviews in one connected app. Progress is computed from the real records instead of being pieced together across separate tools, and a ranking engine turns each morning's open work into one recommendation with the reason behind it. Briefs, deadline alerts and weekly digests reach the phone through a self-hosted n8n layer and Web Push.

Overview

The problem. Goals, to-dos and habits usually live in separate apps, so the person becomes the integration layer and still can't tell whether they're moving. Deciding what to do first is manual work every morning, and reminders either don't happen or fire without judgement, even on a rest day.

What I built. GoHa is a personal execution system that brings long-term goals, sub-goals, to-dos, habits and daily planning into one place. Instead of keeping each in a separate app, it turns what matters long term into a clear plan for today, and it measures progress from the work that actually got done.

I built the whole product: a Today view that ranks the open work and suggests where to start, plus the day planner, habits, focus sessions and weekly reviews, all working from the same records. In the background, an automation layer prepares morning briefs, evening summaries and deadline reminders and sends them to the phone, while the app stays in charge of who gets what, and when.

Why it helps. Progress is computed instead of assembled by hand, each day starts with a reasoned recommendation, and reminders arrive on schedule without double-sending or landing on a rest day.

System architecture

  1. Web app. The account owner plans and works the day: Today, planner, habits, focus and review. Next: Next.js app.
Self-hosted n8n. Polls for due jobs on its own schedule and writes the wording. It never touches the database. Next: Internal worker API.
  2. Next.js 16 · React 19. Server Components render every view; Server Actions handle changes, validated with Zod. Next: Authentication, Repository layer, Email events.
Route Handlers · shared secret. Claim, fetch, complete or fail jobs, with leases and deduplication keys. Every rule is re-checked on completion. Next: Repository layer, Web Push.
  3. Better Auth. Email and password with session-derived identity; new accounts by invitation only. End of flow.
Drizzle ORM. Every read and write goes through one layer, scoped to the signed-in user. Next: Database.
VAPID · web-push. GoHa sends notifications straight to each registered device and records every delivery. End of flow.
n8n webhooks · Gmail. GoHa posts signed welcome and password-reset events; n8n owns the template and the Gmail send. End of flow.
  4. Neon Postgres · 35 tables. The only source of truth. Constraints make double-counted time and duplicate notifications impossible to store. End of flow.
